Important Information About Roku
Roku devices have a closed operating system that doesn't support traditional IPTV apps. Unlike Android or Fire TV devices, you cannot sideload APK files on Roku. However, there are still ways to enjoy IPTV content on your Roku TV or device.
What You'll Need
- Roku device or Roku TV
- Smartphone or tablet (for screen mirroring)
- Stable WiFi connection
- Your PiqTV subscription credentials
Method 1: Screen Mirroring (Recommended)
The most reliable way to watch IPTV on Roku is by mirroring from your phone or tablet.
Step 1: Enable Screen Mirroring on Roku
- Press the Home button on your Roku remote
- Go to Settings
- Select System
- Choose Screen Mirroring
- Set Screen Mirroring mode to Prompt or Always Allow
Step 2: Install IPTV App on Your Phone
- On your Android phone or iPhone, download an IPTV app
- Recommended: IPTV Smarters Pro or Smarters Player Lite
- Configure the app with your PiqTV credentials
- Make sure your phone and Roku are on the same WiFi network
Step 3: Mirror to Roku
From Android:
- Open your phone's Settings
- Go to Connected Devices or Display
- Select Cast or Screen Mirror
- Choose your Roku device from the list
- Accept the connection on your Roku TV
- Open your IPTV app and start streaming
From iPhone:
- Make sure your Roku supports AirPlay (Roku OS 9.4 or later)
- Open Control Center on your iPhone
- Tap Screen Mirroring
- Select your Roku device
- Enter the code shown on your TV if prompted
- Open your IPTV app and enjoy
Method 2: Roku Channel Store Apps
Some M3U playlist players are available in the Roku Channel Store.
Step 1: Search for IPTV Apps
- Press Home on your Roku remote
- Select Streaming Channels
- Choose Search Channels
- Search for "M3U Playlist Player" or "IPTV"
- Browse available apps (options may be limited)
Step 2: Add and Configure
- Select an app and click Add Channel
- Open the app after installation
- Enter your M3U playlist URL from PiqTV
- Wait for channels to load
Note: Roku Channel Store IPTV apps are limited compared to Android/Fire TV options. Screen mirroring typically provides a better experience.
Recommended Alternative
For the best IPTV experience, we recommend using a dedicated streaming device instead of Roku:
Amazon Firestick
Most popular choice. Easy to set up, supports all major IPTV apps, affordable.
Android TV Box
Full Android app support. Access to Google Play Store and sideloading.
Formuler Box
Designed specifically for IPTV. Premium experience with MyTV Online app.
These devices plug into your TV's HDMI port and work alongside your Roku, giving you the best of both worlds.
Troubleshooting
Screen mirroring not working?
Make sure both devices are on the same WiFi network. Restart your Roku and phone. Check that screen mirroring is enabled in Roku settings.
Lag during mirroring?
Screen mirroring quality depends on your WiFi. Use a 5GHz network if available. Move closer to your router.
AirPlay not showing Roku?
AirPlay requires Roku OS 9.4 or later. Go to Settings > System > System Update to check for updates.
No IPTV apps in Roku store?
Roku has strict app policies. Screen mirroring is the most reliable method for IPTV on Roku devices.
